Arts and Antiques Appraisal and Preservation Day
Applegate House, Yoncalla, Oregon

Saturday, September 24 - Rain or Shine

On Saturday, September 24th, 2005 we will host an Art and Antiques Preservation Day on the grounds of the Applegate House. For a $10 donation, the public is invited to bring two objects for appraisal and to get expert advice from conservators about how to care for your antiques.

Two appraisers and two conservators will be on hand from 10:00AM to 4:00PM to evaluate objects. No appointment is necessary. First come, first served.

Candy Moffett of the Alder Gallery in Eugene will lead the appraisal team. She is an accredited personal property appraiser with the International Society of Appraisers, specializing in fine arts and antiques. Working with her will be Jim Dahlstrom, an independent appraiser with a special interest in modern furniture, fine arts prints, and 20th century pottery.

Tom Fuller and Sandra Troon will offer expert advice about how to store and preserve objects. Fuller is an independent consultant who has worked with museum collections nationwide. Delos-Reyes holds a Master’s degree in art history, and specializes in paper, such as letters, documents, and photographs. Sandra Troon’s expertise is in textiles.

There will be tours of Applegate House at 1:00 and 3:00 PM. Beverages and a picnic area will be available. Bring your antiques or come just for fun.
